Cap. 12
Weather
sunny · cloudy · raining · cold · hot · windy
Usamos la estructura: It’s + adjetivo.
Está nublado.
→
It’s cloudy.
¡Atención! En inglés no decimos “It has sun” ni “It makes wind”. Siempre usamos It’s + adjetivo del clima.
✗ There is sunny → ✓ It’s sunny.
Hace mucho calor.
→
It’s hot.
Hace calor suave / buen tiempo.
→
It’s warm.
Diferencia clave: En español decimos “Hace calor”, pero en inglés es It’s hot (no *“It makes heat”*). Igual con frío: It’s cold.
→
The temperature is 20 degrees.
Hoy hace 25 grados.
→
It’s 25 degrees today.
En contextos informales, a menudo se omite “The temperature is” y se dice directamente: It’s 18 degrees.
Podemos usar adjetivos (rainy, snowy) o verbos en presente continuo (raining, snowing):
Está lloviendo.
→
It’s raining.
Hoy es un día lluvioso.
→
It’s a rainy day.
Está nevando.
→
It’s snowing.
Es un lugar nevado en invierno.
→
It’s a snowy place in winter.
No digas: “It’s rain” o “It’s snow”.
It has sun today.
→
It’s sunny today.
En inglés, el clima siempre empieza con It’s, no con “has”.
It’s very rain.
→
It’s very rainy. / It’s raining heavily.
“Rain” es sustantivo o verbo. Para adjetivo, usa rainy.
The temperature is 20 degree.
→
The temperature is 20 degrees.
En plural, degree lleva s: 20 degrees.
It’s coldly today.
→
It’s cold today.
Usamos el adjetivo cold, no el adverbio coldly.
