Common Mistake: Dropping Subjects
Warning
In Spanish, you can drop the subject pronoun. In English, you MUST include it, even for weather or time.
Incorrect: Was raining. / Is important.
Correct: It was raining. / It is important.

Common Mistake: Background vs. Action
Focus
Use Past Continuous for the background scene, and Simple Past for the interrupting action.
Incorrect: I walked down the street when I saw him.
Correct: I was walking down the street when I saw him.

Pair Activity: Tell Your Story
Student A
Tell a story about a time you lost something important. Use transition words and feeling adjectives.
Student B
Listen and ask three follow-up questions in the past tense. Then, switch roles.
Giving Peer Feedback
When your partner finishes, tell them:
- One transition word they used well.
- One feeling adjective they used.
- One question you still have about the story.
