Spot the Mistake — Talking About Age
Click the incorrect word in this sentence:

¡Correcto! In Spanish, we use the verb TENER (to have) to express age. Literally, we say "I have 20 years." Never use SER (soy) or ESTAR (estoy) for age.
Expressing Age in Spanish
Let's review the formula:

Common Pitfalls to Avoid
Pay attention to these rules when forming sentences.
- ✓mis hermanos (My plural brothers agree with plural noun)
- ✗mi hermanos (Incorrect plural/singular agreement)
- ✓nuestra casa (Our singular house agrees with singular noun)
- ✓Tengo 20 años (Correct age expression: 'I have 20 years')
- ✗Soy/Estoy 20 años (Incorrect literal translation from English)
