Using simple past (preterite) for descriptions or feelings

No: "Fui aburrido en la clase"

→ Should be: "Estaba aburrido"

Overusing 'hubo' instead of 'había'

No: "Hubo muchos problemas"

Writing Focus

When writing past stories:

Use imperfecto for setting the scene: weather, time, emotions, age, repeated actions.
Use pretérito for main events: decisions, arrivals, accidents, starts/stops.
Always link ideas with luego, entonces, al final, mientras tanto.
