Strategy for Part 2
In Part 2, you have a choice. You must choose ONE of the two tasks: writing an article or writing a story. Both require about 100 words.
Option 1: The Article
- Purpose: Usually written for an English-language website or magazine.
- Content: Answer the specific questions asked in the prompt. Give your opinions and explain them.
- Style: Keep it engaging! Use a catchy title, speak directly to the reader (e.g., using 'you' or rhetorical questions), and use interesting adjectives.
- Structure: Title + Introduction + Main Paragraph(s) + Conclusion.
Option 2: The Story
- Prompt: You will be given the first sentence of the story. You must begin your story with this exact sentence.
- Tenses: A story is a narrative, so you need to be confident using past tenses (past simple, past continuous, past perfect).
- Content: Focus on a clear plot with a beginning, middle, and a surprising or clear ending.
- Vocabulary: Use time linkers (e.g., Suddenly, After a while, In the end) to help the story flow.

Read both options carefully before deciding. Choose the one where you know the vocabulary best, not just the one that looks easiest at first glance!
