Preposiciones de movimiento

Dentro, fuera y sobre superficies

Estas preposiciones indican movimiento hacia o desde un lugar cerrado o una superficie:

Entró en la habitación.
He walked into the room.
Salió del edificio.

She jumped off the wall.
Error común: En español decimos "entró en la habitación", pero en inglés usamos into para movimiento. ¡No uses solo in!

Movimiento por caminos y espacios

across · through · along · past

Across = cruzar una superficie. Through = atravesar un espacio cerrado. Along = seguir paralelo. Past = pasar más allá.

Caminamos por el puente.
We walked across the bridge.
Condujo por el túnel.
She drove through the tunnel.
Caminamos junto al río.
We walked along the river.
Gira justo después del banco.
Turn right just past the bank.
No confundas: Across se usa con puentes o calles (superficie). Through se usa con túneles, bosques o multitudes (espacio tridimensional).

Movimiento vs. posición

¿Estático o dinámico?

Posición (estático)
The cat is in the box.

The cat jumped into the box.

subirse al autobús
Regla clave: Si hay cambio de lugar, usa la preposición de movimiento (into, onto, etc.). Si describe dónde está algo, usa la preposición de lugar (in, on, etc.).

Errores comunes

Interferencia del español

She went in the room.
She went into the room.
Movimiento hacia adentro → into, no in.
He got in the bus.
He got on the bus.
Para transportes públicos → get on, no "in".
We drove through the bridge.
We drove across the bridge.
Across = cruzar una superficie. Through = espacio cerrado.
I go to home.
I go home.
Con home no se usa preposición: go home, come home.
