¿Formal o informal?
Incorrecto (informal)
✗ Hi there! I wanna ask about the job.
✗ It's really bad and I'm so disappointed.
Correcto (formal)
✓ Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to enquire about the vacancy advertised on your website.
✓ I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the quality of the product I received.
¡Evita las contracciones! En escritura formal no se usan don't, I'm, it's, can't, etc. Usa siempre la forma completa: do not, I am, it is, cannot.
Errores típicos
Cuando el español interfiere
I want to know about the job.
→
I am writing to enquire about the vacancy.
En inglés formal, no se dice "I want"; se usa "I am writing to...".
Can you please solve this problem?
→
I would be grateful if you could look into this matter.
Las órdenes directas ("can you...") son informales. Usa fórmulas condicionales.
I’m very unhappy with the product.
→
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the product.
Evita expresiones subjetivas como "I'm unhappy"; usa lenguaje objetivo y profesional.
Best wishes,
→
Yours faithfully, (si no conoces el nombre)
Best wishes es demasiado informal. Usa Yours faithfully/sincerely.
