Como dizer "Tem..." em inglês?

Em português do Brasil, usamos o verbo TER para dizer que algo existe ("Tem um carro na rua"). Em inglês, isso é proibido. Usamos There is ou There are.

There is a car. (Há/Tem um carro)

Have a car.

Singular vs Plural

A escolha depende do que vem depois.

There is = Singular (1 coisa)

There is an apple. (Tem uma maçã)

There are = Plural (2 ou mais coisas)

There are two apples. (Tem duas maçãs)

Negativa e Perguntas

Como usamos o verbo To Be, as regras são as mesmas de sempre: adicione NOT para negar, e INVERTA para perguntar.

Negativa: There isn't a car. / There aren't any cars.

Pergunta: Is there a car? / Are there any cars?
