Passive Voice — Advanced Forms

Formas passivas avançadas

Para além do presente e passado simples, a voz passiva existe em muitos outros tempos: continuous, perfect, modal, etc.

Present Continuous: The road is being repaired.

Past Continuous: The bridge was being built when I arrived.

Present Perfect: The report has been submitted.

Modal: The form must be signed.

Modal passives — must, should, can, will

Modal passives: modal + be + past participle.

The contract must be signed before Friday.

This problem should be solved quickly.

The door can be locked from inside.

All candidates will be informed by email.

Get passive (informal)

Em inglês informal, get + past participle é usado em vez de be + past participle, especialmente para eventos não planeados.

I got fired last week. (informal passive)

She got hurt playing football.

They got married in secret.

The car got damaged in the storm.

Erros comuns

Erros comuns nas formas passivas avançadas:

The report has been submitting.
The report has been submitted.
Present perfect passiva: has/have been + particípio passado.
It must signed today.
It must be signed today.
Passiva modal: modal + be + particípio.
The road is being repair.
The road is being repaired.
Passiva contínua: is being + particípio passado.
