O que são question tags?

não é? / pois é?

Question tags são mini-perguntas que adicionamos ao final de uma frase para confirmar informação ou pedir concordância. A regra básica: afirmativa + tag negativa / negativa + tag afirmativa.

Afirmativa + tag neg.

You speak English, don't you?

Negativa + tag pos.

She isn't here, is she?

She can swim,

can't she?

He has finished,

hasn't he?

Como formar a tag

A tag usa o mesmo auxiliar da frase principal + pronome sujeito. Se não houver auxiliar, use do/does/did.

Auxiliar 'be'

It is cold today, isn't it?

Auxiliar 'have'

They have left, haven't they?

Modal 'can'

She can drive, can't she?

Sem auxiliar (present)

He works here, doesn't he?

Sem auxiliar (past)

They went home, didn't they?

'let's' tem tag própria

'nothing' é negativo → tag positiva

'everyone' → they (plural)

Entonação — pergunta ou confirmação

a entonação muda o sentido

A entonação da tag muda o significado. Tom descendente = confirmar algo que já sabemos. Tom ascendente = perguntar de verdade.

Tom descendente (confirmar)

It's a lovely day, isn't it? (tom descendo — confirmar)

Tom ascendente (perguntar)

You've met him before, haven't you? (tom subindo — quero saber)

Importante: Em conversa, question tags com tom descendente são as mais comuns — usamos para criar conexão, não para pedir informação nova.

Erros comuns

She works hard, isn't she?

→

She works hard, doesn't she?

Sem 'be' como auxiliar → use do/does.

They didn't come, didn't they?

→

They didn't come, did they?

Frase negativa → tag positiva.

I am late, amn't I?

→

I am late, aren't I?

'Amn't' não existe — usamos 'aren't I'.

Let's start, won't we?

→

Let's start, shall we?

'Let's' sempre tem tag 'shall we'.
