Dois condicionais de realidade

O Zero Conditional fala de factos gerais e científicos (sempre verdadeiro). O First Conditional fala de situações futuras reais e prováveis.

Zero: If you heat water to 100°C, it boils.

First: If it rains tomorrow, I will stay at home.

Zero Conditional: If + presente, presente

Use para verdades gerais, científicas ou hábitos. A condição é sempre verdadeira.

If you mix red and blue, you get purple.

Water freezes if the temperature drops below 0°C.

If I eat too much sugar, I feel ill.

Use para condições reais e prováveis no futuro. A cláusula 'if' usa presente simples (nunca 'will').

If she studies hard, she will pass the exam.

If it doesn't rain, we 'll have a picnic.

What will you do if you miss the bus?

O erro mais comum: usar 'will' na cláusula 'if'.

If it will rain, I will stay home.

If it rains, I will stay home.

Na cláusula 'if', nunca use 'will' — use o presente simples.

If she will study, she passes.

If she studies, she will pass.
